BOHEMIAN GYPSY

Create 3 cards to either swap, challenge or both!

If doing both, cards to swap must be different then challenge cards

Find your inner Gypsy + have some Bohemian fun!

You must use images + backgrounds from the 2 FREE sheets below, but you can use any of your own embellishments.

I will set up a post on the Gecko Galz Facebook page. Please let me know if your are going to swap.

I will post your swap partners on July 10

Gecko Galz Monthly DT Challenge-July Sea of Dreams

 

LOVE AT THE HELM

I created this ship wheel photo frame using a wood frame + a beautiful image from this GG sheet

sea shore sweethearts

I 3d her using foam tape

I used my distress oxide sprays on the frame, then added texture pastes in patina shades

A cluster of blue cheesecloth, vintage papers, a shell, starfish, flower + a verse snippet on the bottom corner

A paper flower + brass rope anchor finish off the piece

As soon as I saw this gorgeous image on the GG sheet

Mermaid Kingdom

I knew she would be part of my next project. I cut the image and made her bigger to make this 8" x 10" reverse canvas.

Cheesecloth, mod podge, pearl sprays + my imagination

The picture in the center that I added touches of vintage rhinestone chain, druzy, horn shells, pearls more

She is whispering to the seahorse....underwater magic I'm sure

The edges of the canvas are adorned in large shells I painted + sprayed, glass beads, pearls, a trident + rose compass and a large vintage rhinestone pretty

LOST LOVES ATC Cards

Atcs about lost love as the men sail out to sea

The ladies images are from Mystic Fantasy Collage Set

The ships are from Sail Away

The background paper is Wonderful Watercolors ATC Set

I added nautical wood accents + sticker verses

The cards have been mounted on white corrugated paper

On the backs, are the new GG ATC Backs. I used this set

Black + White ATC Backs

I think they really just finish off the cards!

Now I'm off to dream about the Sea!

Gecko Galz June Challenge-Wild West Sweetheart

 

YEEHAW! I found my inner cowgirl with this months Gecko Galz challenge

My 1st project is this boot kicking Old West Saloon.

I had my bff build the saloon out of wood. 

Painted it in old wood colors, then added wood grain digital paper

Yep, those saloon doors actually swing open + close!

A cow skull on the top of the building, as well as a wood wagon wheel, adds to the theme.

I also built a small bench to sit on the boardwalk.

An old cowboy sittin here, wondering where all the cowgirls came from!

Gecko Galz has these wicked awesome retro cowgirl images!

I cut some out and adhered them to the saloon rails. Others I glued them to a base so they would stand up, + also added a WANTED poster. 

Next up, I created a COWBOY BOOT Card

Got the boot shape from Pinterest. Cut it out on white cardstock.

Used some plaid paper from my stash for the main boot, + brown textured paper for the boot heel, sole + leather strap.

Did stitching with a white paint pen

I love the image of the hard working cowgirl in the center.  I glued her to another "stitched leather" adornment.

On the top of the boot strap is a red brad.

I also edged the entire card in Vintage Photo ink.

WELL BEHAVED COWGIRLS RARELY MAKE HISTORY TAG

A fun cowgirl tag, using this kick ass tag from Gecko Galz. Its from their Ride em Cowgirl digital craft kit

The southwestern blank tag with a cutout cowgirl image that has been 3d to the tag.

In the corner I made a leather look corner pocket using a cut up brown paper bag that I first colored with vintage photo oxide ink, then crumpled it up, smoothed it out, then rubbed black dye ink over the crumples. Makes it look like worn leather.

A western ticket over top.

I made a rope lasso. Its hanging from the word tag. There is also a gun charm on the top.

Finished it off with a blue brad on the southwest tag.
