holiday Tag Craft Kit

I love anything plaid, so this tag was perfect to use.

I cut it out + put a black cardstock backing on it.

A Christmas music sheet, thats been distressed edged, + highlighted in red dye ink

A fussy cut candy cane + wreath that has 3d pop dots to pop off the tag

Punched a hole on top, added a brass eyelet, then strung through red + gold metallic cord. I added a red bell to the cord as a final touch.

Now its all ready for that perfect touch on a present!

I made the tags from this Gecko Galz Sheet

I then cut out ladies from these 2 sheets

Ladies in Red

Visions in Green

Vintage brass clock gears on each tag

On the red tag, I added a brass propellor + the green tag, I have the lady holding a metal top hat .It is painted in black, + has a tiny brass gear and feather.

I used silk sari ribbons in rich jewel shades

Lovely Steampunk ladies all ready for Christmas

Holiday Tag Craft Kit

I then cut out images from a free sheet I got when I purchased from GG during Nov. 

I edged them in red dye ink, distressed the edges, then glued them on the tag + added a dot of 3d red enamel on the corners

Believe tag is from Tim Holtz. I edged it in red, then added 2 yellow acrylic stars on either side

Some red + gold cord and a tiny gold bell finish the tag

This is Halloween Dec 3 Challenge

 

Halloween in Dec? Absolutely!

My DT creation for the Dec challenge.

I chose this cool vintage photo design from 

liliraindesigns.blogspot.com  

Moon + Stars

I stenciled a 10" canvas with stars + modelling paste

Then I added the wood moon + stars. Painted everything white, then using distress sprays, added the background color.

Edged the canvas using distress inks + wax pastes

I also added aged brass wax paste on the moon and stars

The shadows are black matte wax paste

After distressing the edges of the photo, I adhered it to the canvas

Lastly, I took a chipboard quote chip, sprayed it with distress spray, highlighted it in aged brass wax, then glued it to the top of the canvas

Arty Divas Challenge Dec 2020

 This month, as a DT for Arty Divas, the Dec challenge is Anything Goes.

I created a cute Christmas ornament with the help of the Snarky Cats

The base is a slice of birch wood.

I stamped the cat design directly onto the wood using a black permanent ink, then colored it in using distress markers

Stamped the background snowflakes in blue distress ink, then added a bit of glitter glue

Stamped the verse on some coffee dyed paper, cut out, then glued it to a piece of plaid ribbon.

Used the same plaid ribbon to make a hanger

25 Days of Christmas Tags Gecko Galz Dec 4

 Who doesn't love TAGS at Christmas?

They are perfect for adding to gifts, sticking in a book, journalling + more!

This months DT challenge for Gecko Galz is 25 Days of Christmas Tags

My 1st tag is an Ornament Tag

I used a ornament shaped wood base. Covered it in red suede paper. The back has the same paper.

2 floral metal stampings that I painted, on the top + bottom of the pic

Edge in red glittered pipe cleaner, I also used that has my ribbon

Dangling from the bottom, is a vintage glass chandelier pendant.

Once Upon a Christmas Dec 2020 GG Challenge

 As a DT for Gecko Galz, I get to create crafts and paper crafts from the most wonderful digitals!

This month was no exception

My first Once Upon a Christmas project is an altered Diorama Clock featuring these super cute Gnomes from the digital sheet Gnome for the Holidays

A Tim Holtz clock base that Ive painted in metallic red, distressed and added gold wax paste + snow texture.

Trees, snowflakes a plaid bow, + of course, Gnomes

Blue cardstock for card base. I added a distressed sheet of Christmas music, a handmade snowflake with blue glitter + distressed edges in vintage photo dye ink.

A blue winter floral image from the kit over the snowflake, with a blue pearl center

Clear acrylic snowflakes, each with a pretty blue pearl over the music paper.

Lastly, the words Let it Snow with a distressed ink edge

Gecko Galz Design Team November Challenge White Christmas

This months Design Team Challenge for Gecko Galz is WHITE CHRISTMAS

I have created a Winter White  Wolf Shadowbox and 2 Greeting cards 

The beautiful wolf digi is from the Sweet Nature collage sheet

A paper mache box holds a majestic wolf and her cubs on a cold winter day

WHITE TAG CARD

I embossed a pearl white card with stars using white embossing powder.

The tag is from the HOLIDAY TAGS kit

I distressed the edges of the tag, then highlighted them in white

Fussy cut the girl image, then using 3d foam, I added her to the tag. 

A simple white lace ribbon tied to the tag.

Adhered the tag to the card front, then I added a 3d sparkly snowflake sticker

SNOWMEN TRIO

This is a very easy card to make. I picked out 2 white tags from the HOLIDAY TAG KIT. Then using a snowman template, I traced around it, and cut out 3 snowmen.

Glued + 3d them to a white embossed card.

Crystals in clear + light blue added as buttons.

Arty Divas Nov Challenge

 This months challenge as a DT for the Arty Divas, was for these gorgeous tags from Vectoria Designs on Etsy.

I created 2 tag cards. 

My card is 2- sided Christmas scrapbook paper. I printed out some Christmas music paper on vellum in a sepia color, then tore a piece off to fit under my tag.

I added a sage green eyelet to the tag, then punched a hole in the vellum, putting the eyelet through them both.

Beautiful rich colored silk suri ribbon for bows. I them adhered the tags, with the vellum, to the card front using double sided scrapbook tape.

This is Halloween Design Team November Retro Halloween Tags

 

I have created these fun retro Halloween tags

for the Nov challenge on the This is Halloween design team

I made the tag from the backing paper from a Tim Holtz stencil. The paper is a distressed look in shades of brown + black.

I added a piece of burlap ( orange + purple) on each tag, then using Tims retro Halloween cutouts, I layered the bingo cards, pumpkin, skeleton + witch. The skeleton + witch both have 3d foam to pop them on the tag

Added a grey eyelet in each, then added some fun silk suri ribbon to tie thru the eyelet.

These tags would be cute to add to a gift or in a journal

Be Joyful Christmas Diorama

My 1st Christmas project this year

I created a vintage fireplace scene using this wonderful 3D fireplace from Retro Art Cafe

I added a brick texture to it, and distressed it with black soot + cracking campfire paint + dye spray

The mantle on the fireplace I hand marbled, using black, white + a touch of gold paint. Glass glazed over top.

Christmas packages, a tree, candles, ( handmade), bows, A Christmas quote chip,stocking and garland

Christmas Tim Holtz paper dolls trio that I added hats to, a furry hand muff, + a gift

I made the fireplace insert using a flickering orange tealight, some flat stones I found outside, + some twigs from the yard. 

All ready for a festive Christmas!

Eerie Chills Card Fronts

 

I love creating card fronts. They are ready when you need a quick card to make. These would also be perfect for journaling.

I started with 2 pcs of a cardboard box I cut to 4" x 5"

I then carefully tore off the cardboard to show the corrugated cardboard underneath. You can also lightly spray it with water, then tear off the cardboard.

I like to leave some of the cardboard showing.

Sprayed them both with Black Soot + Cracking Campfire Distress Sprays to make them look rustic

The wonderful creepy digitals are from one of my fav digi shops.

Lastly, I added chipboard Halloween words

Retro Halloween Mini Tombstone Junk Journal + a Free Image

I created a mini Tombstone junk journal using these cute retro Halloween images 

The front + back covers are stencil board tombstones and the center pages are chipboard I made myself

5 double sided pages, as well as the covers 

Crazy pumpkins on top of each page

Vintage black lace on the bottom of the front + back covers

Dazzling silk suri ribbon, + Halloween word charms dangle off the bright colorful jump rings

Skeletons in your Closet

 

Do you have Skeletons in your Closet? 

Skeletons hide in this closet...wonder what secrets they hold

I turned this masonite wardrobe into a creepy skeleton closet

I made hangers out of black metal to hang in the closet.

A clothes rod, out of dowel

Hmm, whats in here..lets look

2 skeletons, both decked out in a halloween bow tie

An old book, a ball...er eyeball......+ bones.

Decorating the outside of the closet, is more skellies, skull door knobs, scary skull hands and a skull poster on the back

The outside of the closet was first painted in black, then I sprayed it with Crackling Campfire Distress Oxide Ink Spray.

White wax paste was used pn edges to get an old wood look. I also used the white wax to highlight the stenciled skull on the front + the wood skulls on either side

Altered Wood Pumpkin

 

What started with a thin wood pumpkin turned into this crazy, bright Jack o Lantern 

I love to alter things...everything! and this pumpkin was calling my name

I layered small wood halloween decorations to either side

Ghosts, cats, skulls, pumpkins, witches, the grim reaper, bats and more!

Dye sprays were used to achieve all these wonderful bright shades of orange, purple + red.

White wax highlites + then some back wax shading

A simple bow using silk sari ribbon

Nevermoredesigns Blog Challenge Oct 2020

 

This month over on the nevermoredesigns.blogspot.com

is a wicked design challenge using this fabulous Witch image.

I created a 3d canvas. The witches are printed on vellum.

I textured my canvas using rust paste + a stencil with old bricks and brickwork

The background is done in black, browns, + rust

I off centered the image, then added a harvest moon with trees 

A bit of batting in the trees to look like for or webs

The edge of the canvas is old twigs I found in the yard

A broomstick in the corner, and the chipboard word

The Witching Hour at the bottom.

Let the hexing begin!

Hello Darkness my old Friend

 

Not All Who Wander Are Lost

 I made this shadowbox using the wonderful background image from

A haunting portrait of a woman...a ghost

Is she searching for a lost love...

I printed the image on velum + glued it to the back of an open back wood shadowbox. I had already decorated the shadowbox using dye sprays in speckled egg blue, frayed burlap + white.

Dried moss on the roof

Moss inside on the bottom, with tombstones I sprayed in frayed burlap + white

A single rose rests at one tombstone.

Happy Fall Pumpkin Aug GG Design Team Challenge

Fall

My fav time of the year!

Apple cider, red + orange leaves,pumpkins + all the beauty that Fall brings

I created this fabulous pumpkin wall art for Gecko Galz!

I created a Finnabair inspired project using a 12.5" wood pumpkin shape.

I started by laying down textures using modeling paste and stencils.

When dry,I glued on wood shapes, paperclay decorations, art stones + strands of plastic beads

Gessoed over top and left to dry

Next I sprayed with different shades of Lindys art sprays.

I added die cut sunflowers using a brown plaid and bee scrapbooking papers.The center has vintage pearl centers from some old jewelry

The leaves are also diecuts

The bright sunflowers are from Gecko Galz new Fall Icon line

Aren't they FABULOUS!!

I layered them with a large and smaller one to give them more depth.

Wax pastes were used to highlight the textures on the background

I also added mini glass beads in a rust shades.

The letters saying HAPPY FALL are wood. I quick spray + my pumpkin is finished, ready to hang on  a door or wall.

 

Sept DT Gecko Galz Challenge Autumn Calling Pixie Tag

I have made a layered burlap tag, for the Gecko Galz DT Sept Challenge.

Autumn  Calling

A sweet wee pixie with a balloon brocade of autumn leaves

I cut her out and she was layered on a orange burlap tag, then a slightly larger purple burlap tag

A diecut bush and some diecut tree twigs over top

I then die cut 2 sunflowers out of a fall color pattern paper, and put them together using an eyelet

Put it on the top of the tag with some beautiful colored silk suri ribbon.
