Dragonfly Dreams Daily GG Challenge

"May you touch dragonflies and stars, dance with fairies, and talk to the moon"

DRAGONFLY DREAMS
Todays challenge on the Gecko Galz blog

I started with this magical image from the Beautiful Backgrounds Digital Stamps set

Printed out 2 copies, same size, on white cardstock.
Mine are 5" x 7"

Next, pick out 2 focal spots, one large, one smaller
On one of the image sheets, using a lid, draw around for the circle + cut out.
Do the same with another shape, only make is smaller then the first one.

Cut out the 2 shapes, then color in the image. Just the cut out shapes. I used Prisma Premier Markers.

Edge around the shape using a black ink pad

Using foam tape, I stuck these 2 shapes over top on the full black + white image, making sure to line up the design.

Glue black vintage lace to the top + bottom of the picture.
I also glued another row of silk sari ribbon

2 flowers on the top corner, one a white paper flower, the other a black silk flower with rhinestone centers.

You could use this for a journal cover, or add a looped ribbon to hang

True Colors Gecko Galz Daily Challenge

True Colors...reminds me of that Cyndi
 Lauper song
"But I see your true colors
shining through
I see your true colors
And thats why I love you"

I made this ATC to say Embrace Your Beauty
no matter who you are

I chose an image from Colors of the Wind digital collage sheet
I adhered it to a black background to make the colors pop

Butterfly + roses in a bendy, to give a 3D effect
I also used a pop dot on the butterfly in the corner.

The quote Embrace your Beauty from Charming Words digital collage sheet

Lastly, I added some iridescent blue sprigs in the corner

What is your true color?

Steampunk Birdhouse

Steam Power Tag GG Daily Challenge

Another awesome daily challenge on the Gecko Galz blog. Todays theme is
STEAM POWER

I created a steampunk tag.
Started with a shipping tag. Ran it thru my Sizzix using the Clocks embossing folder

I then sprayed it using copper + gold moon shadow sprays from Lindys
When dry, I rubbed Aged Brass wax paste over the raised areas.

Next, I cut out an image from the Gecko Galz Steam Power digital collage sheet.
I glued her onto brown stardust cardstock + trimmed around the edges.

Brown glitter paper made terrific gears using a gear die and my Sizzix die cutter
I first glued one to the corner, then I glued the woman to the side of the tag.

I made a gold scroll filigree using a die and gold metallic cardstock, then glued it to the tag.

Added the other brown glitter gears.

Vintage lace, tea dyed, was tied through the tag hole.

She would be lovely gracing a steampunk journal or book cover!

Moonbeams Gecko Galz Daily Challenge

Todays challenge over on the Gecko Galz blog is Moonbeams
I have titled my pc Moonbeams + Mermaids

A gorgeous pink frame from the Been Framed kit
holds a beautiful mermaid. Sitting on a rock under the night sky, blowing bubbles under a giant moonbeam

The mermaid is from the Colorful Mermaids Digital sheet. One of the best designs I've ever seen! The mermaids are spectacular!

I cut her out and put her on a glittery pink background. the pink matches the flowers on the ocean rock.

I made bubbles on a piece of white glossy cardstock. How did I do that you ask? I used distress oxide ink. 3 shades in green, pink + blue. I tapped the ink on my surface sheet, then sprayed water over top. Using various size lid tops, I tapped the lid into the ink, then on my paper. When I was finished, I dried the paper with my heat gun.

I adhered the bubble paper to the back of the frame I printed and cut out.

I then cut a large moonbeam from white glitter paper, and pop dotted that to the pic.

A little pen string, to a blue die cut shell hangs from the moon.

To Mom Gecko Galz Daily Blog Challenge

My mom passed away 2 yrs ago, so this card is a tribute to her.
She always loved flowers + hummingbirds and had a green thumb.

I started off making a 2 ended flower pot.

A crease runs down the center. I measured off each top enbd of the pot, + made a lip using a decorative paper.
I cut out 2 more of the decorative papers, and glued them top + bottom, on one side, then the other
I then edged all away around the flower pot in a distress ink
Fold the pot up + punch 2 holes on either side of the decorative paper.
Do that to both ends where the decorative paper is.

I cut flowers out from  GG floral sheets and glued the ends to the back side of the pot.
The humming bird is cut out, and has a pop dot behind it.

On the inside, using a tag die, I cut out a shape using Handwritten Word paper.
Glued that in the center, then added words from another sheet.

On the front again, add a tag or a floral with the word "Mom" and attach to front of the flowerpot.
I also added 2 tiny light green crystals to either side of my Mom tag.

Choose a coordinating ribbon, and run bring it thru the holes + tie a bow. Your Mom opens the bow to see your message.
Happy Mothers Day!

Easter Bonnet Gecko Galz Daily Challenge April l.4

Todays daily challenge over on the Gecko Galz blog is
EASTER BONNET

So today, I have made this project to fit the theme.

It started with the pretty girl image that was a free image on the Gecko Galz blog.

The gorgeous green frame around her is from the digital collage set
BEEN FRAMED, which you can find in the Gecko Galz shop on Etsy

I glued the girl design to the back of the frame, which was printed and cut out.
The beauty of these frames is you can print them out in any size.
The joys of digitals!

Then, using chicks, and flowers from another freebie on the GG blog, I cut them out, and using pop dots, I 3D them to her hat.

The "feather" in her hat, is actually a floral sprig from the chicks digi.

I think she is now ready for Easter in her pretty bonnet

LITTLE Mermaid
Gecko Galz daily blog challenge
for April 2 2020

I cut out a background rectangle from Gecko Galz Dream Weaver ATC Collection

Glued that to the CD.
Frayed up a white piece of cheesecloth, + glued that over the rectangle.
Chose a beautiful mermaid from Gecko Galz

Glued her over top the cheesecloth.
Added touches-A flat iridescent marble, die cut coral, sequin seashells, and a coral pink paper rose.

Not shown, but I covered the back in a sparkle paper.
This would look pretty hanging in front of a window, where the sun would show all the rainbow colors of the CD
