You will have the month of Aug to create 3 ATCS using these 2 design sheets

Challenge, Swap or do both, but your ATCS must differ

I will make a post + album on the GG Facebook page for you to add your CHALLENGE cards.

 On Aug 6, I will pick your swap partners. If you want to swap, please add your name to the Facebook Post

You MUST use images from the free sheets, but you can add your own embellishments

Gecko Galz Aug Challenge-Myths + Legends

 

This month on the Gecko Galz blog we are featuring projects created for

MYTHS + LEGENDS

I have created 3 projects with some of my favorites

CLEOPATRA PYRAMID CARD

I started with a sheet of  12" x 12" white cardstock 

The longest side is 12.5", so you have to make it from corner to corner

3 sides are 6.25"

When you have cut that out, find your center on the long side, + mark.

Make your triangle. I used a ruler + score tool

Press to fold, + there you have a 3-sided pyramid

You can add writing inside the card

Using a sponge + soft ink pads, I sponged all over with 2 colors

Then using darker colors, I rubber stamped my design over top

The gold triangle design on front, was made using 24k gold leaf.

Tiny crystals adorn Cleo's necklace

The image of Cleopatra was then 3d over top using foam tape. I added a gold druzy embellishment on the top.

Other images of Cleo cut out, edged in gold, then adhered to both sides.

HIGHLANDERS ATC CARDS

The Highlanders, the clans, the tartan, the history!

I created 4 Scottish Highlander ATCs using

outlander-atc-set

Dec 2021 Club Kit

I chose 4 tartan ATC backgrounds.

I then chose 4 of the Highlanders from the Club kit that matched the tartans

I cut them out + 3d then using 3d foam tape

I added chipboard thistles from my craft stash. I colored them using a sponge + distress oxide ink

Found the clan emblems online, + added a small one to each corner.

These would be fun to trade, or use them in a Scottish journal

KING ARTHUR JOURNAL

"For to die with honor is far better then to live disgraced"

I created this King Arthur journal cover + had such fun doing it

My journal cover was kraft, so i rubbed blue + grey distress oxide ink on it to distress it

A scroll design over top

I then made castle tower sets, 1 a wee bit bigger then the other, + 3d the small one over the bigger one for a more realistic effect

A long banner flag in the center, with a metal patina sword on top

I cut out the images + places them on the castle tower, + below. 

An eyelet with flowing burgundy + gold silk sari ribbons completes the look

2. TRAVEL SUITCASE

I used a rectangle tin hinged box.

i painted it with a metal paint, before adhering

The handle is made from wire + 2 small square beads 

Now, what would you find in a travel suitcase?

Postcards, brochures, your passport, tickets

3. BEACH TAG

Nothing like a glorious trip to the beach!

I used an extra large chipboard tag.

I covered it in a light blue mulberry paper, then stamped a seashell design 

I edged the tag using dk blue distress ink

I also added 3 tone blue eyelash yarn at the bottom to create waves + a few seashells
